In some of my books, there are monsters or Priests that have been given dark gifts: for example p58 in the book Westport.

Clarification on Gifts
Gift of wounding, this is treated the same as any other bleeding wound; requiring staunching, sewing or cauterisation. Each casting affects a weapon for a combat round.
Gift of pain. The BAP reduction lasts until the victim takes a rest period. Each casting affects the weapon for a combat round.
Hate thy brother lasts until he uses his next attack - hit or miss against the target of hate Clearly the victim might feel guilty, and this could lead to some roleplay where atonement is sought. The one who has been scorned may have some resentment at being hit. therefore, the mental effects of the spell can be longer reaching than the mechanical one.
Of course, I always encourage other methods that introduce drama to the game. It is your game, have fun and challenge the players in new ways.
Thanks to Daniel Glover for the question on how these work
Things sound obvious when writing and it's in your head but doesn't always get onto paper the same way, or at all lol
For gifts the method TSC% comes from the Benefactor who gave the gift. Any gift is derived from the benefactor unless it's a personal skill roll allowed by the gift, in which case the actor makes that roll from his own skill. So with the Gift on Page 81, the actor would roll a relevant Alterness sight or sound skill but for gifts, the targeting % comes from the benefactor who gave out the gift. Usually, a high number as these are powerful beings.
Players should have a close relationship with their benefactor, a Major Named NPC for the player / Henchman to interact with and try to impress.
If someone gets cut off from their benefactor for whatever reason,…
Sorry about the attributes getting cut off. Definitely need to do a new layout and issue it out on Drivethru. Thank you for the questions and lovely to see things getting used in your Campaign.
Looks like the Attributes got cut off somehow during layout.

The talent on P81 is an example of an Avatar gift from their benefactor. Any gifts are not learned and don't have to comply with the methods available in their learned modes tables. These are there as examples of the power level and things that a benefactor might award to his follower.
