It's no secret I love my photography, at one point, this was my way of earning money; covid and chasing money - constantly not being paid in any reasonable time-frame put pay to that. Now I take photos to make me happy; hopefully, they make others happy too. I generally post my photos onto the Flickr site for anyone to see or download to print for their own use.
One of the things I enjoy is doing some Astrophotography up Mnt Tiede in Tenerife. The skies up there are pristine and some of the views of the Milkyway Galaxy are truly humbling.
Over here we aren't so lucky to get such clear skies, light pollution is a real buzz-kill for taking astrophotos.
A cool tool to use are websites that give the details of the phases of the moon and when the various meteor showers arrive through the year.
The TimeandDate website is an excellent resource with some other tools that might prove useful too.
My other resource is a site that lists the Dark Sky Discovery website that shows all of the areas of the UK and their levels of light pollution.
My last suggestion is the Cambridge in Colour website that has tutorials and tips, techniques and tricks for photography.
HAPPY SHOOTING!
